In the center of the London when the river Thames meanders throght the land of the one of the biggest cities one can find a homeland of the most magnificent footbal team in the capital city – Chelsea.
The first records in history of the borough date back to 787 AD when the Synod of Chelsea took place. After that the lands were in the power of Govenor of king’s palace who later on has gave the Manor of Chelsea to the Abbot of the Westminster Convent.
After some time the district was called the village of palaces because it became a very atractive and compelling place to live for a well off part of the society .
For a long time Chelsea reminded rural and have being used as a market garden for the nerby boroughs. Finaly in the 19th century the lands has been assimilated by the metroplis.
One of the most iportant roads called King’s Road there is neo-classical marvelous Chelsea Town Hall with its astonishingly beautiful frescos. Nowadays it serves a community as a building of Chelsea Public Library.
Beside the Town Hall the most know object is a Chelsea Royal Hospital founded by Charles II in late 17th century. It is also known from the Flower Show that tooks place annualy.
The Chelsea is also know as a borough of atrists because of the amouts of the writters, poets and other artist had lived there. It is a place where lived Tomas More, whose statue is situatedin the yard of the Chelsea Old Churh. Another famous writer Oscar Wilde bought a house at Tite Street. Even the celebieites of the 20th and 21st century find this district compelling. The Beatles found this district so lovely that they bought there a couple of flats. Even Keith Richards and Mick Jagger have lived there.
Now it is widely know as district with the biggest number of celebrities.
The fans can easly meet their beloved movie stars walkingalong the streets of Chelsea Imagine that Lili Alen, Gwyneth Palthrow or Johnny Depp can be tomorrow in your shop. I advise to perpare something to write.
The most known Educationl instituation founded in Chelsea is widely know ad respected Chelsea College of art and Design.
